My Turning Point

My Turning Point

My Turning Point journey started January 2023 as I was listening to a speaker discuss the shifting landscape of the financial industry. As I listened, I heard a call for more holistic financial planning—a combination of investments, insurance, and a thoughtfully crafted integration of the two. With over 20 years of experience specializing in insurance and guiding other advisors, I realized that I was in a unique position to address this need. I had met countless clients who seemed financially secure on the surface, yet I’d uncover significant gaps in their planning

Client Centered

So I found myself at a crossroads. I had spent the majority of those years supporting other advisors—helping them structure plans, navigate strategies, and guide their clients. But something was missing. I realized that my true passion lies in working directly with families and business owners—not just helping them accumulate wealth, but showing them how to turn it into lasting security and a legacy they can be proud of.

At the same time, I noticed a growing need. More and more, conversations with friends, family, and colleagues turned to financial planning. Over and over, I heard the same thing— Most didn't have a trusted source to turn to help coordinate their financial strategy—someone who could bring together investments, tax planning, income planning, and long-term security into a cohesive plan. Many of these same people had been in their 20s and 30s when I first entered the industry with very different…and often simple needs. Now, they are in their 50s and beyond, and the questions had shifted. They weren’t just thinking about growing wealth; they were focused on protecting it, making it last, and creating a secure future for their families.

That’s when I realized that my experience—combining investment management, estate planning, and deep knowledge of insurance solutions—uniquely positioned me to fill that role. As people approach retirement, many feel a growing urgency—not knowing if they’ve saved enough or if what they have is truly working for them. They may have been contributing to a 401(k) or IRA for years, but they’re unsure how it all fits together. A real plan goes beyond just saving—it’s about creating a clear strategy for income, taxes, risk management, and long-term security. When people start to see how all these pieces connect, that’s when they gain real confidence and clarity in their financial future. That realization—seeing how much more people needed beyond just saving—made it clear that I wanted to play a bigger role. In my previous position, I wasn’t able to provide the level of hands-on guidance that people truly needed. I knew it was time to make a change so I could help clients navigate these critical decisions with precision and confidence.

So, I made the leap. I left my corporate role to become an independent advisor, free to put my clients’ needs first without the constraints of a larger firm. I founded Turning Point Financial Group to provide the kind of thoughtful, customized financial guidance that families and business owners deserve—where advice is truly in their best interest, not tied to quotas or commission-based products. Financial planning isn’t just about numbers—it’s about people, about understanding what matters most, and about creating a strategy that brings peace of mind.

I am excited to have my own financial planning company here on Cape Cod, MA as it's been home for me for nearly 30 years. I’ve built my career and raised my family here, and I care deeply about helping those in our community navigate the next phase of their financial lives. I focus on working with individuals 50 and older—those who are approaching retirement or already retired—because I know that once you reach 50, key milestones start to emerge. Retirement isn’t just a distant goal anymore; it’s right around the corner, and the decisions you make now will determine your financial security for decades to come. There’s a real need for thoughtful, independent guidance, and I’m committed to helping Cape Cod’s retirees and pre-retirees build confidence in their future.

If you’re approaching retirement and wondering, Am I truly ready?—let’s have that conversation. Together, we’ll chart a course that ensures your wealth works for you, protects your future, and gives you confidence in the road ahead.

 A Philosophy of Lifelong Learning

In making this transition, I also knew I needed to earn my CFP® designation. The CFP certification was essential for me because it signifies a fiduciary commitment to clients and an adherence to high standards. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I’m committed to researching, learning, and providing trusted guidance. For me, it’s about truly caring. I understand that financial planning can be overwhelming, so I work to simplify complex concepts, building trust by making things understandable, and motivating my clients to take action.

Over the years, I’ve found that clients may have unique situations, but they often share a few fundamental desires:

  • No one wants to run out of money before they run out of time.
  • No one wants to pay more taxes than they have to.
  • No one wants to leave their family at odds or financially vulnerable when they’re gone.

These three convictions are at the heart of most financial plans, and reaching them represents a “turning point” in each client’s life. It’s my goal to help my clients arrive at this milestone with peace of mind, knowing they have a solid, thoughtful plan in place.

I invite you to join me on this journey as we navigate the path toward lasting financial security, helping you build wealth, protect your future, and reach your own personal turning point. Let’s get started—reach out today, and together, we’ll create a plan that works for you and your family.
